Cooking lessons are offered in the comfort of your own home! – I come to your home and cook a meal with you from start to finish. This allows us to work with the tools you already have in your kitchen and are familiar with.
Cooking lessons are offered to those with any level of cooking ability – The purpose of this service is to help you feel more knowledgeable in the kitchen so cooking meals with whole foods at home is no longer intimidating or scary. Together, we will build on skills you already have to improve your efficiency and comfort in your kitchen.
Lessons will focus on cooking with whole foods (not the store!) – Meals I encourage are those that contain foods that are as close to being whole as possible. Learn more about whole foods on my Whole Foods Exposed page.
We will make enough food so you can have leftovers for a meal the next day! – This is, after all, one of the benefits to cooking dinner. Leftovers will be an emphasis during our cooking lesson.
How the Cooking Lessons look:
- When you schedule your lesson we discuss what kind of menu/foods you would like to learn how to cook (for some ideas see the Recipes page on this website).
- You construct a grocery list based on what you have on hand and what you’ll need at the store.
- You purchase the various food items prior to our lesson.
- I come to your house and teach you:
1. Proper and safe food handling
2. Food preparation skills (knife handling, cutting techniques, various cooking
methods/vocabulary) - We cook and eat together and I help you clean up!
Sliding Scale Rate: $60-120
